【摘要】:Augerboringsoftenprovidethesimplestmethodofsoilexplorationandsampling.Theymaybeusedforanypurposewheredisturbedsamplescanbeusedandarevaluableinconnectionwithgroundwaterleveldeterminationandindicationofchangesinstrataandadvancementofholeforsplit-barrelpenetrationtestsandsampling(TestMethodD1586)andthin-walledtubesampling(PracticeD1587).Equipmentrequiredissimpleandreadilyavailable.Depthsofaugerexplorationsare,however,limitedbygroundwaterconditions,soilcharacteristics,andtheequipmentused.1.1Thispracticecoversequipmentandproceduresfortheuseofearthaugersinshallowdepthgeotechnicalexploration.Thispracticedoesnotapplytohollow-stemaugers.Usesofhollow-stemaugerdrillingmethodsforgeotechnicalexplorationareaddressedinTestMethodD6151.1.2ThispracticedoesnotincludeconsiderationsforgeoenvironmentalsitecharacteristicsandinstallationofmonitoringwellswhicharediscussedinGuideD5784.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026unlesssupersededbythismethod.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.6Thispracticeoffersasetofinstructionsforperformingoneormorespecificoperations.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthispracticemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
